SMM Aug 22 News:

With the approaching parade on September 3, relevant departments in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and nearby areas have made requirements regarding transportation and air quality control. It is reported that the waste lead-acid battery recycling business in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area has slowed down, and smelters in Henan province have restricted the entry of vehicles that do not meet emission standards, leading to a decline in raw material arrivals for lead smelters in North China in the short term. Currently, the mainstream tax-inclusive procurement price for waste e-bike lead-acid battery scrap by smelters is between 10,000-10,250 yuan/mt.

Domestic secondary lead smelters show low production enthusiasm, and the supply of secondary crude lead is limited; at the same time, the prolonged consolidation of SHFE lead is also unfavorable for the inflow of imported crude lead. The current ex-factory price for tax-excluded secondary crude lead is around 15,650 yuan/mt, with few quotes heard for imported crude lead.
